Does the TA map find real liquidations?
Over the last 3 days (14 to 16 Oct), 91% of the TAUSDT liquidations Bybit reported ($1.2K of $1.3K) happened while price was at the map's levels, which it was about 14% of the time.
Liquidations come in fast moves, which reach more levels, so this share flatters any map near the price; the lines on Bybit face a registered forward test, read after 16 November.
Read it with care
- Longs: 99% of $1.2K, with price at their levels 15% of the time. Shorts: 0% of $103, with price at their levels 0% of the time.

- It scores the map; the lines on the chart are picked from a finer version of it and are tested on their own. See how the lines are being tested.
How the record is scored
Bybit publishes every liquidation. A daily record, not a test. See how the rails are being tested.
- Every minute the published map was ready is scored, the UTC day after, at 00:20 UTC. The window is the last 28 complete UTC days, 2026-09-19 to 2026-10-16 UTC.
- At the map's levels: in that minute price traded through a level where the map had long dollars (price fell to it) or short dollars (price rose to it), however few. A long liquidation counts on the long side, a short liquidation on the short side, wherever it printed.
- Time at the map's levels: the share of scored minutes in which that happened, each side weighted by its liquidation dollars. It is what the share at the levels would be if liquidations came at random minutes. They do not: they cluster in fast moves, and fast moves reach more levels, so this baseline flatters the map, most of all one with levels close to the price.
- The share at the levels divided by the time there is not printed: a map in reach half the time reads 2x at most however good it is, and fast moves lift any map.
- The daily score of the drawn levels (Binance, from 10 Oct 2026): every minute a one-minute bar reached a drawn level, the same side's reported liquidations that minute and the next two, against minutes of the same market and side that reached no level and whose move toward that side fell in the same one of 42 fixed size bands. Markets weigh evenly. It leads the record once it has 1,000 touches over three days; until then the one-off study does. Bybit and Hyperliquid wait for their registered tests.
- The study of the drawn levels (Binance, 10 to 13 Oct 2026): for every minute a one-minute bar reached a drawn level, the same side's reported liquidations that minute and the next two, against minutes of the same market and side whose move toward that side fell in the same one of 200 size bands but reached no level. A standard map (10x, 25x, 50x and 100x tiers from Binance open interest, the same number of levels) was scored the same way. It ran once, on data already recorded; it is not a registered test.
- Reported per map $: liquidations reported in those minutes divided by the dollars the map had at the levels price traded through. At 1.00x the venue reported as much as the map had.
- Binance throttles its liquidation feed, so its dollars are a floor; Bybit's feed is complete. Hyperliquid is not scored yet, and Bybit markets outside the registered Bybit test are held out.
- A daily record, not a test. It describes what happened each day; the rails' registered forward test is run separately.
- Model: v2-c643da479075 (mid class), 3 days. Last computed 2026-10-17 00:20 UTC.

How the map is built
- Open interest becomes positions. Each minute's net rise in the exchange's open interest is booked as new longs and shorts at that minute's average traded price.
- Each gets a liquidation price. How far positions sit from liquidation is learned from real Hyperliquid positions, pooled by coin class and capped at the exchange's maximum leverage; positions with no liquidation price in range stay off the map.
- Closed positions leave. Falling open interest closes positions in proportion, and when a candle reaches a level the positions there are gone.
- Dollars are scaled, lines are picked.Sizes use one scale per coin class, fitted on Bybit's liquidation record from July 2025 to January 2026. The lines are the clearest peaks of a finer version of the map: each keeps its price, its dollars update at most hourly, and it ends when price reaches it or half its dollars close.
It estimates positions from open interest and price; it never sees them, and a level is not a forecast that price will reach it. TA on Bybit uses the mid-size coin class's numbers, not a fit to its own record. The lines are under a registered forward test on Bybit from 13 Oct, with results from 16 Nov. Read the registration.

Questions about the TA liquidation map
What is the TA liquidation heatmap?
Estimated prices where leveraged TA positions on Bybit would be forced to close: longs below the price, shorts above it. Each line is one level and the chart draws the biggest each side; brighter lines hold more dollars, and a level ends when price trades through it.
Where are the biggest TA liquidation levels right now?
At 08:42 UTC the map held $15.0K of TA longs below the price of $0.04288 and $30 of shorts above it, across 18 levels within 10%. The most long dollars sit about 8.0% below ($1.3K), and the most short dollars sit about 9.5% above ($30). In the last 24 hours Bybit reported $744 of long and $0 of short TA liquidations.
How are the levels calculated?
From the market's own open interest and price, not from real accounts. Each minute's rise in open interest is booked as new longs and shorts at the minute's average traded price; each gets a liquidation price from a distance profile learned from real Hyperliquid positions, pooled by coin class and capped at the exchange's maximum leverage; falling open interest closes positions; and dollar sizes use one scale per coin class, fitted on Bybit's liquidation record. It is an estimate, not a forecast that price will get there.
How accurate is the TA liquidation map?
Last 3 days: 91% of reported liquidations came at its levels, which price touched 14% of the time. The check runs every day against the liquidations Bybit reported. Liquidations cluster in fast moves, which also reach more levels, so the record flatters any map with levels near the price; the lines face a registered forward test on Bybit, read after 16 November.
TA heatmap, liquidity heatmap or liquidation map?
Usually the same chart: traders also call a liquidation heatmap the "TA heatmap" or a "liquidity heatmap". A liquidation map shows the levels at one moment; a heatmap shows them over time, and the chart here does both: each level is drawn from when it appeared to when price reached it, or to now. An order book heatmap is a different chart: it shows resting orders waiting to trade, not positions that would be forced out.
Is the TA liquidation map free?
This page is free: the past week's levels, the ones price reached, and the biggest live level each side, rounded to 0.5% of the price. Every big live level with its dollars, on this chart and live in the terminal, is part of Pro; BTC's map is free with an account.
