EdgeDepth vs CoinGlass
CoinGlass gives you the numbers. EdgeDepth replays the move behind them.
CoinGlass is the number everyone quotes for open interest, funding and liquidations. EdgeDepth is built for the move itself: liquidation levels in dollars, scored in public, and the recorded book and trades to replay when price reaches one.

What EdgeDepth adds
-
Levels with a public score
CoinGlass says the actual liquidations will be fewer than its heatmap shows and that sizes should be read relative to each other; no hit rate was found on its pages. EdgeDepth draws its levels in dollars and checks them every day against what the exchange reported, misses included.
-
Replay the minute it was reached
On an EdgeDepth map, click a level price reached to replay that minute: the recorded book, every trade and the reported liquidations. CoinGlass offers historical data for backtesting through its API; no on-screen replay was found on its pages.
-
Hyperliquid, with its coverage shown
EdgeDepth's Hyperliquid layer reads the liquidation prices of observed positions, and the chart's key shows how much open interest that covers. CoinGlass has a Hyperliquid liquidation map and a whale tracker; its pages do not say how the map is built.
Side by side
| Question | CoinGlass | EdgeDepth |
|---|---|---|
| Liquidation heatmap | Three models, calculated "based on market data and different leverage amounts"; 20 venues on BTC; views from 12 hours to 2 years. Every coin and the longest views need Prime. | Liquidation rails on Binance and Bybit: modelled levels in dollars, each ended by the candle that reaches it. BTC's map is free to everyone; every other market is part of Pro. |
| Accuracy | No hit rate found. Its heatmap page says "the actual number of liquidations will be fewer". | Checked every day against the liquidations the exchange reported, misses included, on each coin's map page. A registered forward test of the rails publishes its result on or after 16 November, pass or fail. |
| Replay | No on-screen replay found on the heatmap, order book heatmap or chart pages. Historical data for backtesting through the API. | Click a level price reached to replay that minute, or right-click any candle: the recorded book, every trade and the reported liquidations. Up to 30 days of Binance on Pro. |
| Hyperliquid | A Hyperliquid liquidation map and a whale tracker with each address's liquidation price, covering "350k+ addresses". | Levels from the exchange-reported liquidation prices of observed positions, with the share of open interest they cover in the chart's key. Free on BTC, Pro on every other coin. |
| Reported liquidations | 10 exchanges including Hyperliquid. It notes that Binance and OKX publish at most one update a second. | Binance and Bybit reports on every market with Pro, live and in replay. Binance does not publish every liquidation, so its figures are a floor. |
| Order flow | Order book heatmap on the web; footprint and large trades in its separate Legend product. | Real-time order book heatmap with trade bubbles, live and in recorded replay. Footprint and TPO are free on every supported market. Read traded volume at each price and footprint imbalances. |
| Price | Free with limits; Prime $28 a month or $268 a year (web only, no API); API $29 to $699 a month. | Free: Bitcoin live depth all day. Pro $29/mo, or $20/mo billed yearly. |
Scored in public
Every level we draw is checked against what happened.Misses included.
Any tool can draw bright lines. Without a score, you cannot tell a level that matters from one that just looks good. A map that shows its misses is one you can believe when it hits.

How it is scored
- We checked 11 liquidation map and heatmap tools on 4 October 2026. None published how often its levels met real liquidations.
- The harder test is still running: we wrote down the pass and fail rules for our liquidation rails before 13 October, and publish the result on or after 16 November, pass or fail. Read the registered test →
- Liquidations bunch up in big moves, which also reach more levels, so the time bar flatters the map. Binance’s reported feed is a lower bound, so dollar figures are a floor.

Questions
Is the CoinGlass liquidation heatmap accurate? #
CoinGlass publishes no hit rate on the pages we checked. Its heatmap page says the map shows where liquidations are likely to start, not where they stop, so "the actual number of liquidations will be fewer". EdgeDepth publishes how often price sat at its levels and how much of the reported liquidations came then, every day.
Does CoinGlass have replay? #
Not on screen, on the pages we checked. CoinGlass sells historical data for backtesting through its API. EdgeDepth replays the recorded order book, trades and reported liquidations in the browser, from a candle you right-click or a level price reached.
Can I try EdgeDepth before paying? #
