How to read it, with examples
How to read it
Like Binance's 5m Open Interest to Market Cap chart, each line is stretched to fill the chart: price from its low to its high over the last 30 five-minute closes, and the open-interest share the same way. above means price is drawn over the ratio line at the newest close after being under it; below is the reverse; none is any other close. Each close is read on the chart as it looked at that close, never on a later redraw, so a crossing never depends on later prices. The reading is absent for 30 closes after a gap, and while either line is flat across the window.
Use it as one condition among others, such as funding, the hour's change in open interest, a volatility rank or a pattern, and compare what followed with the same markets' closes without a crossing.
What it does not prove
A chart crossing is not a trade signal. It happens about 30 times a day per market, so on its own it is ordinary.
More limits
Binance's chart redraws as new candles arrive, so a crossing it shows later can differ from this reading, which never looks ahead. The window is fixed at 30 closes, the window of the chart it was built from. Before June 2026 a missing five-minute open-interest value restarts the window, so fewer closes are read there.

Registry definition
Chart-style price versus OI/supply crossing, trailing_30_close_range_scaled.v1. At each five-minute close, price and the OI/supply ratio are each scaled to their own low and high over the 30 contiguous five-minute closes ending there (about 2.5 hours), as a two-axis chart draws them. Above/below means the newest close is on the other side from the latest earlier close on a strict side, read on the newest window's scale only, so no later price is used. Scaled values within 1e-10 have no side. Fewer than 30 contiguous valid closes, a series flat across the window or a missing close make the value absent; other minutes are absent. It fires about 30 times per market-day, so a crossing on its own is ordinary. Binance historical queries only, derived from recorded inputs without re-extraction; not proof of original-time availability or trading edge. Record queries retain one-hour episode deduplication; prevalence counts raw matching closes. Live monitoring and automatic discovery are unavailable.
