Last one-hour SMT divergence against BTC

Also shown as The last one-hour SMT divergence against BTC

How to read it, with examples

How to read it

On one-hour candles, a swing high is an hour whose high is above the two hours before and the two after it, so it is known two hours later. When this market confirms a new swing high, it is compared with its previous swing high from up to 72 hours earlier, and BTC's highest high over the same five hours is compared the same way. bearish means one market made a higher high while the other made a lower one; bullish is the same at swing lows; none is any other hour. The reading holds for the hour after the candle that confirmed it.

Use it as one condition among others, such as funding, a liquidation reading or the size of the move into the swing, and compare what followed with the same markets' hours without a divergence.

What it does not prove

A divergence describes the two markets' swings; it does not say price will turn. It needs two candles after the swing, so it always arrives late.

More limits

The pair is fixed: every market against BTC, and BTC against ETH. Only one-hour candles are read. An hour with no trades in either market restarts an 80-hour warmup, so thin markets read absent more often.

Registry definition

SMT divergence on one-hour swings, fractal_swing_pairs_1h.v1, against BTCUSDT (ETHUSDT for BTCUSDT itself). One-hour candles are built from the recorded one-minute highs and lows. A swing high is a closed hour whose high is strictly above the two hours on each side, known two hours later; each new swing high is compared with the previous one when it is at most 72 hours earlier, and the reference market uses its highest high over the same five hours. bearish means the two markets disagree at swing highs (one strictly higher, the other strictly lower); bullish is the same at swing lows; none is any other warm hour. The reading holds from the confirming close to the next close. Absent until 80 consecutive hours with a full candle in both markets; a missing hour in either market restarts the count. Binance historical queries only, derived from recorded prices without re-extraction; not proof of trading edge. Live monitoring is unavailable.

Engine note

Definition fractal_swing_pairs_1h.v1, derived at query time from the stored one-minute highs and lows of both markets, with the reference market read once per query from the same pinned data. Binance history only. Recorded only: there is no live value, and an alert on it is refused.

The search reports how often the record held this condition and what followed. It does not decide whether an idea works.
