Research Readings Coiling line
One-hour coil state
Also shown as The one-hour coil state
Reports whether a falling line over rising support is waiting for its break on one-hour candles (armed), was broken by the candle that just closed (broke), or neither (none).
- Live monitoring
- Unsupported: historical only
- Observed

How to read it, with examples
How to read it
This is a state, not a strength score. broke holds from the close of the breaking candle until the next one-hour close: the break is the first candle whose high reaches 0.5% above the line, or that closes above it, with no other break in the 12 candles before. armed means a valid line with rising support has not broken yet. none means neither. The line runs through its peak and its last touch, and the readings beside it (distance to the line, touches, channel width, squeeze) describe the same line. For the first 152 days of a market's recorded tape the state is absent, never none.
Count what followed the minutes after a break (broke), or armed structures pressed near their line (add the distance reading), and compare them with the same markets' minutes without a structure.
What it does not prove
A break is not a buy signal. No breakout rule on these lines made money in both 2021 to 2025 and 2025 to 2026.
More limits
Candles are built from the recorded one-minute tape: an hour with no trades is a flat candle at the previous close, for up to a week. The detector describes one family of lines, not every line a person could draw.
Technical details
Registry definition
State of the coil detector on one-hour candles. broke: the candle that just closed is the first to reach 0.5% above a valid falling line (or to close above it), with no other break in the 12 candles before. armed: a valid falling line over rising support is waiting for its break. none: neither. Absent for the first 152 days of a market's recorded tape, so none is never claimed blind.
Engine note
Recorded only: the live feed carries no candles, so this reading has no live value and an alert on it is refused.
